My Teaching Statement

As a theater educator, my mission is to introduce students to the joy and magic of the performing arts in ways that resonate with them personally. Whether they find their spark in acting, designing, or simply experiencing the creative process, I want to help each child discover what they love most about the arts. More than just teaching theater, it’s about creating a space where students can express themselves freely, explore their creativity, and develop an appreciation for the diverse perspectives and talents of others. I want them to understand that differences enrich our stories and make collaboration meaningful, fostering an environment where every voice matters.

It is important to me that my classroom feels like a safe space where students can learn, grow, and take creative risks without fear of judgment. For those who need a creative outlet, theater can be a place to channel their thoughts and emotions, offering both freedom and connection. My goal is to nurture a lifelong appreciation for the performing arts while helping students build empathy, confidence, and the courage to share their unique voices with the world.
